My name is Mairi Scott, and I am one of the Ambassadors for Local Recovery. I became an Ambassador to Local Recovery because I really believe that local people are best placed to make decisions about their communities.
I know how important it is to have public services you can rely on; I have spent my entire career working alongside NHS Scotland for many years in Glasgow, and more recently in Dundee, to improve General Practice services. And I have seen our NHS and other public services come under severe strain as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our brilliant public service workers need our support more than ever.
It’s clear that our communities need to be involved in the effort to recover from the pandemic, ensuring our neighbourhoods, towns and villages get the support they really need.
